With You
When God calls us to action, to vocation, to anything He asks of us, and we can sometimes (or often) tell ourselves that we are not strong enough, wise enough, talented enough, good enough, etc.
It seems like a strange sort of humility to say these things even, but what you think of yourself , your abilities and whatever degree of struggle in regards to self-worth, God does not satisfy our vanity. God-the Lord, will very gently put our minds elsewhere if we give those things to Him, we don't need to fish for compliments for others to tell us our worth or hope to be validated by people.
Before we were born He set us apart, He appointed us to something.
When God called Moses from the burning bush, telling him He was sending him to Pharaoh to bring the Israelites out of Egypt; Moses replied "Who am I that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?"
And God said "I will be with you" [Exodus 3:11-12]
And God told him the signs that it was Him and what He would do.
God did not tell Moses that he would be great, that he was a really good people person, or super creative or so totally awesome that'd he'd be able to pull off this huge accomplishment based on his own merit or experiences or abilities; not that God doesn't use those things, He can and will. But the most important thing He says is that "I will be with you"!
The same is said to Joshua, Moses' successor, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid, do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go" [Josh. 1:9]
And ultimately Jesus, says that He himself will be with us, along with the helper (His holy spirit), "will be with us to the end of the age" [Matt 28:20].
And that is super encouraging! :)
